The Changing Lives Gala is Capital Community College’s (CCC) signature event for access to higher education in Hartford.
This year's Gala at the Main Street campus in the former G. Fox & Company Department Store will feature music, auctions, complimentary beverages and fine food from Hartford favorites Agave Grill, Wood-n-Tap and TD Homer's Grills.
For more than 45 years Capital has been a stepping stone to higher education and careers for generations of Greater Hartford residents. Enrollment has risen rapidly since the move to the downtown with more than 500 students earning associate degrees and certificate in each of the last three years.
Although Capital is a public college, less than 50% of its budget comes from the state. That’s why new contributions, sponsorships and grants are so critical right now for scholarships and support of college programs and services. A portion of this year’s proceeds will help gain matching dollars from a National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) challenge grant for the Hartford Heritage Program. The Heritage program has engaged faculty and students in a curriculum focusing on the city’s history, culture and art, making downtown and its institutions a vibrant “campus” for teaching and learning.
Sponsors opportunities and journal advertising are welcome. Sponsors receive tickets, media and campus recognition during the Fall 2013 semester and naming recognition on the campus at levels ranging from $1,000 to $15,000. For information call 860-906-5102; e-mail CAemail@example.com
