JOIN FACULTY AND STUDENTS FOR A NIGHT @ THEATERWORKS
The Capital Community College Foundation, in cooperation with Theaterworks, invites you to a benefit performance of "The Mountaintop", an award-winning play by Katori Hall.
Reception: 6 pm | Performance 7:30 pm
Winner of London's Olivier Award and recently on Broadway, The "Mountaintop" is set at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis in 1968 on the night before the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assasinated. History is re-imagined as this historic date with destiny weaves a powerful fantasy about a conversation between King and a mysterious hotel maid that prompts him to confront his life, his past and his legacy.
Net proceeds will support the Hartford Heritage Program at Capital Community College. Capital Community College has been approved for a $300,000 challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to sustain its Hartford Heritage Program, an initiative linking courses with the city's cultural and historic institutions.
